A Modern Day Guru
Phra Kruba Krissana Intawanno is without question, one of today’s modern day guru monks. Producing amulets that are firstly stunning in design and all powerful. He was born 1st August 1953 into a large family and indeed is one of 10 children. With a love for learning and Buddhism; Kruba Krissana entered the monk-hood at a relatively early age and soon began his training with Phra Kruba Puu.
In his early formative years Kruba spent many years with Kruba Puu travelling throughout Thailand even venturing into Laos and Cambodia as Tudong Monks These are type of monks who simply wander from place to place without the sanctuary of a temple they generally spend their nights in small one-man tents which they can also use as meditation cells moving from place to place with little in the way of possessions and surviving from morning offerings or ‘Saai Baat’
We may never know the true secrets of what Monks study in the way of spells and magic crafts but some say they will often test their powers in and around Cambodia which is known for its powerful and dangerous black magic. It is said Thai Monks learning such crafts like to head there, to test their ‘ defenses’. After gaining his grounding with Kruba Puu - Kruba Krissana decided to continue on with his studies on his own steam and later spent many years isolated as a hermit in a cave near Moon Bon Dam near the small township of Khonburi about one hour from the city of Nakhon Ratchasima.
Learning of his powers the locals requested he stay in the area and build a temple And indeed he did and later built Wat Mahawan just south of Khonburi In a mountainous area known as Wang Nam Khiow were Kruba today is often found. To say Kruba produces beautiful amulets is certainly an under-statement, you could say he is an accomplished artist producing not only amulets but significant paintings, posters and all manner of crafts even T-shirts.
But it is his powder based (Neau Pong) King Butterfly amulets that people love and cherish; the intricate designs are stunning and unique and no two appear the same. The Butterfly itself is actually two Salika’s ‘ kissing’ that form the basis of this type of design deeply aromatic which some say will never disappear studded with semi-precious stones often Kruba sets powerful and magical Takruts into the rear of the amulet with rich colouring and intricate design Kurba’s Butterfly amulets are truly magnificent they are said to create wealth, build and develop loving relationships and dissolve troublesome ones his amulets are truly revered by many around the world.
